Electric car being charged

Software as a service (side business)

EV Sync is a service for dealerships that automatically synchronises their EV listings onto car marketplaces daily.

EV Sync runs daily against any sort of website, application or data feed that contains new/used electric cars for sale.

Once EV Sync has been set up against one of these services - manually uploading or updating electric cars onto any car marketplace is no longer required. EV Sync will handle all of this.

This project was born from the creation of one of my other projects: Buy-ecars. EV Sync still uses most of the back-end services that Buy-ecars used but it no longer focuses on the car marketplace side of things.

Online Car Marketplace (side business - now terminated)

Buy-ecars was the most ambitious project I've ever worked on. Myself and a friend dedicated an immense amount of our personal time (spanning over 2 years) to build the UK's first electric-only car marketplace. The goal of buy-ecars was to provide a platform which allows both independent sellers and traders to buy and sell electric cars.

The following features were available for it's users:

  • Fully functional search
  • Login / Register functionality
  • It's very own messaging service
  • Possibile for anyone with an account to upload their own ads (incl. images)
  • Automatic email service
  • Sleak and fully responsive modern design

The project has now been terminated. We were extremely happy with the project from a web develpment standpoint - but we didn't get the money side of things right and couldn't justify the costs required to keep it running.

The site was built using React for the front-end and Java, Springboot for the back-end while using AWS to host it's microservices.

MG Property Services

Website (self-initiated university project)

MG Property Services was built for my final year practical web project at University.

The site's objectives were for it to be fully responsive, visually appealing and user-friendly. It involved finding my own client and working on a real project individually along with a 4000-word written report.

The site was built following the waterfall methodology and from conception to completion, involved website development tools and techniques such as competitor analysis, user testing and hi-fidelity wireframes.

Mini JavaScript Applications

Encryptor

This application would take any message from the user and encrypt it into a new combination of letters, dependent on their key.

The user then has the option to copy and paste the encrypted message provided and input into a decryptor. When run, the initial user input would be returned.

Order Form

The customer order form demonstrates an understanding of calculations through JavaScript and uses different form elements to influence the final price of the completed form.

Once the form has been filled out by the user, a message at the bottom of the page would appear with all the final deductions/additions.

Pub Menu

This pub menu demonstrates the use of AJAX and JSON. Features include an externally stored JSON file which is used to change the pub menu depending on which day the user chooses.

It also features a picture carousel towards the bottom right of the page which changes photo every 4 seconds to add a bit more life to the site.

Working while abroad for 2 years

Here, I'm sharing insights about my nomadic journey from the ages of 25 to 27.

I decided to leave my old life behind, sell everything that I own and live out of a suitcase.

The goal of this interview from my behalf was to hopefully inspire people who are in a tough situation to make a change in their life for the better.

This interview is about my story.
